Dear community members,
We are a little late getting this out, but we couldnât miss the chance to share everything thatâs been happening across the Zephyr Project community over the past quarter! Q3 was packed with progress from new releases, events, collaborations, and community contributions that continue to strengthen the Zephyr ecosystem.

New Member Companies Recently Joined The Zephyr Project
In August, the Zephyr Project announced that Silicon Labs upgraded to Platinum membership, while Beningo Embedded Group, Raytac, and Tenstorrent joined as new Silver members. These additions highlight Zephyrâs momentum as a secure, connected, and flexible RTOS ecosystem that helps developers stay ahead on security, compliance, and innovation.

Zephyr RTOS 4.2 Now Available: Introduces Renesas RX Support, USB Video Class, and More
Earlier this quarter, Zephyr 4.2 was released marking a record number of 810 indivudual developers contributing to it worldwide! This milestone brings Renesas RX support, USB Video Class (UVC) for smart cameras, a Twister power harness for monitoring consumption, and MQTT 5.0. With nearly 100 new boards, Zbus graduating to a stable API, and big improvements to the Devicetree developer experience, this release is packed with features you wonât want to miss.

This quarter, we launched the Zephyr RTOS Podcast, your new go-to for insider updates, developer stories, and all the buzz from the community.
Episode 1 recaps the Zephyr Developer Summit and shares insights into new features like OCPP support for EV charging, the Twister Display harness, and fresh Adafruit & MikroE shields.
Episode 2 covers the CI meltdown, the new PR dashboard, and tools like DT Doctor for troubleshooting Devicetree issues.

Zephyr Turns 10 Survey
GOAL: Zephyr is turning 10, and we want to understand its impact over the past decade. We're interested in hearing from Zephyr users and contributors about how the project has made a difference in your products and work, and how you've seen the community evolve. We also want to hear from RTOS users who have chosen other solutions. Your insights will help shape the next chapter of Zephyr!
AVAILABILITY OF RESULTS: We will summarize and publish the survey findings in a report on the Linux Foundation website. The Linux Foundation will post the dataset for this survey and instructions for its use in their publicly available section of Data.World.
