Dear ELC Community,
We hope this message finds you well and excited about the future of embedded systems and open source. Last year, we announced a significant transition for the Embedded Linux Conference (ELC): moving from two events annually (one in Europe and one in North America) to a single event each year, alternating between North America and Europe. Additionally, we shared that ELC would become part of a new, larger umbrella event: the Embedded Open Source Summit (EOSS), alongside other embedded-related gatherings.
This year, with ELC/EOSS slated for North America, we've heard a lot of feedback that the absence of an ELC event in Europe is keenly felt. Your input is invaluable to us, and in response, we're excited to announce a special addition to our calendar: a mini Embedded Linux Conference as part of Open Source Summit Europe in Vienna, scheduled for 16-18 September.
This mini-ELC will feature two tracks over two days (16-17 September), offering around 30 sessions in total. This scheduling also ensures no overlap with the Linux Plumbers Conference, which starts on 18 September.
We have two more exciting updates to announce. Lunch will be included with your conference registration, both at EOSS in Seattle this April and at ELC/Open Source Summit Europe in Vienna. Additionally, we're pleased to announce that the registration fee for Open Source Summit Europe has been reduced to match last year's EOSS pricing.
The call for speaking proposals for the ELC/OSS in Europe is now open. If you're interested in sharing your expertise and insights, we encourage you to submit your proposal before the 30 April deadline. Submit here.
Looking into 2025, we do plan to continue providing embedded content in both Europe and North America annually, though we have not finalized timing and format quite yet. Rest assured, we will update everyone as soon as final decisions are made.
Thank you for your ongoing support and enthusiasm for Embedded Linux Conference and Embedded Open Source Summit. We're committed to making ELC and EOSS more valuable, accessible, and enjoyable for all participants. Your feedback is always welcome, as it helps us improve and evolve.
We look forward to seeing you in Seattle and Vienna!
Warm regards,
Linux Foundation Events
